We're in Istanbul. Every investor calls us "the Turkish team." Help?

Outside SF, feel invisibleNot in YC — does that disqualify us?

Building a B2B SaaS targeting US mid-market. Customers are US-based. Revenue is in USD. Team is in Istanbul because that's where we live and it's where the engineering talent is at our budget.

Every investor call ends the same way: "Have you thought about relocating to SF?" or "Who's your US-based cofounder?" The implicit message is clear — being based in Turkey is a liability that needs explaining.

Two questions: (1) Do I just stop saying we're in Istanbul and let them assume? (2) For anyone who's raised from outside the US bubble — what actually worked? Delaware C-corp obviously, but past that?
